About these conditions
The person who makes the booking, the lead traveller, confirms that they are at least 18 and have the authority of everyone on the booking to accept these conditions for them. Your contract with us is made up of these conditions, your written quote and our booking confirmation. Our website terms of use cover the website only, and our privacy policy explains how we use your personal data.
Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Quotes and confirmation
Your quote
Once we've drawn your route together, as described on our plan my journey page, we send a written quote. It lists what is included, such as hotels and room types, meals, private car and chauffeur, guides, experiences, internal flights or trains, and what is not, such as international flights, visas, insurance, tips and personal expenses. Quotes are in [currency] and are valid for [quote validity period]. They [include or exclude] applicable taxes such as GST, as stated in the quote. Hotel availability is not held until you book.
Confirmation
To book, accept the quote in writing and pay the deposit of [deposit %] of the total price by [accepted payment methods]. A binding contract exists when we send you our written booking confirmation. If any element is unavailable when we come to book, we'll tell you straight away and offer an alternative or a refund of what you paid for it.
Paying the balance
The balance is due [balance due]. If you book within that period, the full price is due when you book. If we don't receive the balance on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and apply the cancellation charges below.
Prices
Once we confirm your booking, we won't raise the price except where government taxes, fees or charges change, or where you change your booking. [Surcharge policy, if any].
Changes
If you want to change your booking after confirmation, tell your planner as early as possible. We'll do our best to make the change. You pay any difference in price, any charges suppliers make, and [amendment fee, if any]. A change of dates or a reduction in the number of travellers may be treated as a cancellation of part of the booking.
Occasionally we may have to make a change, for example if a hotel becomes unavailable or a road or park zone is closed. If a change is minor, such as a different hotel of a similar standard, we'll tell you as soon as we can. If it is significant, such as a change of destination or a substantially lower standard of hotel, you can accept it, accept a comparable alternative, or cancel and receive a full refund of what you've paid for the affected part.
Cancellation
If you cancel, we charge the following, calculated as a percentage of the total price of the cancelled travel: [cancellation scale]. Some elements, such as certain flights, trains, permits or festival-season hotels, may be non-refundable from the time of booking; we'll tell you which in your quote. Your travel insurance may cover cancellation charges, depending on the reason.
We may cancel your booking if you don't pay on time. If we have to cancel for any other reason, other than force majeure, we'll offer you a comparable alternative or a full refund of everything you have paid us. We won't cancel less than [minimum notice period] before departure except for force majeure or non-payment.
Insurance, documents and health
Travel insurance (recommended)
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance from the day you book, covering cancellation, medical treatment, emergency repatriation, and loss of baggage and money. If you choose to travel without insurance, you accept responsibility for costs it would have covered. Our travel insurance guide explains what to look for.
Passports and visas
You are responsible for having a valid passport and the correct visa for India, and for meeting the entry rules of any other country on your route. Requirements change, so check the official Government of India visa portal well before you travel. Our visa guide explains the process in general terms. We aren't responsible for costs if you're refused boarding or entry because your documents are not in order.
Health
Please speak to your doctor or a travel clinic well before you travel, and follow official travel-health advice. Tell us before you book about any medical condition, mobility need or dietary requirement that may affect your journey, so we can plan around it. Our guides to health and safety and accessible travel offer general guidance.
On your journey
Please follow the reasonable instructions of your guides and chauffeur, the rules of hotels, parks and places of worship, and the laws of India. We or our suppliers may end your journey without refund if your behaviour puts others at risk or causes serious damage or distress.
We take care in choosing the hotels, chauffeurs, guides and other suppliers who deliver your journey, and we are responsible for arranging what we have agreed to provide. To the extent the law allows, [liability limits and exclusions]. Airlines, railways and some other carriers have their own conditions and liability limits, which may apply.
Force majeure
We aren't liable for changes, delays or cancellations caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, severe weather, epidemics, war, civil unrest, terrorism, strikes, government action, or the closure of airports, roads or parks. If such an event affects your journey, we'll do everything we reasonably can to help, rearrange your plans and recover what we can from suppliers for you. [Refund terms for force majeure cancellations].
Complaints and governing law
If a problem can't be resolved during your journey, write to us within [complaints period] of your return, using the email address in the footer or the details on our contact page. We'll acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to reply in full within [complaints response period].
These conditions are governed by [governing law], and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of [courts with jurisdiction], without affecting any right you have to bring a claim in your own country's courts where the law allows.
